Spock Lives

I would have enjoyed watching lefty heads explode if McCain had won. But we're going to see lefty heads exploding anyway; it's just going to take longer.

Update
It used to be on the sidebar at E!3.
“If Steven Den Beste is Spock, then Bill is Captain Kirk” – James Lileks“

  1. That headline may be too clever for the room, but I sure appreciate it.

  2. The consensus online seems overwhelmingly to be "Accept the One's victory, oppose him politely, and let's regroup." I agree wholeheartedly, but I'm wondering whether that message will get out in the flesh world. I don't have much contact with the political world outside of the Web, can anyone tell me what they're hearing in the trenches?

  3. Your "not-so-subtle" reference to heads exploding is taken as a threat and I can guarantee you it will be seen as such by law enforcement too.

  5. It seems so, D4. No serious law-enforcement personnel would take a reference to "heads exploding" as a threat. Now lefty drive-by bloggers on the other hand...

  6. I'd love to have "hate speech" watch Dave Chapelle's classic mockumentary about the blind black white supremacist and see what he thinks of it.

Then again, it might make his, well, you know...

We reserve the right to delete comments, but the failure to delete any particular comment should not be interpreted as an endorsement thereof.

In general, we expect comments to be relevant to the story, or to a prior comment that is relevant; and we expect some minimal level of civility. Defining that line is inherently subjective, so try to stay clear of insulting remarks. If you respond to a comment that is later deleted, we may take your response with it. Deleting your comment isn't a personal knock on you, so don't take it as such.

We allow a variety of ways for commenters to identify themselves; those who choose not to do so should take extra care. Absent any prior context in which they may be understood, ironic comments may be misinterpreted. Once you've earned a reputation for contributing to a conversation, we are likely to be more tolerant in those gray areas, as we'll understand where you're coming from.
